Be sure to follow these instructions before your colonoscopy. Although the clear liquid diet may not be very exciting, it does fufill it's purpose. It is designed to keep your stomach and intenstines clear and to limit strain to your digestive system while keeping your body hydrated as you prepare for or recover from a medical procedure.

This procedure involves ingesting a small (the size of a large vitamin pill) Pillcam camera which will pass naturally through your digestive system while taking pictures of the small intestine.

An esophageal motility test, also called an Esophageal Manometry) measures the pressures of the esophagus. This procedure is ordered for people who have difficulty swallowing or significant chest pain.

Rubber band ligation of internal hemorrhoids is an office procedure that is effective for the treatment of small, internal hemorrhoids. It is not effective treatment of large or prolapsing hemorrhoids, for mixed internal/external hemorrhoids or external hemorrhoids.
